This time, we’re excited to share with you a stunning linen cabinet, custom built for our clients Amy and Jesse in Woy Woy, NSW. Made from American White Oak and designed to maximize the available space, this linen cabinet blends traditional elegance with modern functionality.
Design Brief: Crafting the Perfect Linen Cabinet
Amy and Jesse approached us with a specific request: to create a linen cabinet that would perfectly fit a void measuring 2000H x 860W x 600D in their home. Maximizing the use of this space was crucial, so our team devised a modular design, dividing the cabinet into an upper and lower section to make the most of the available area.
The Upper Cabinet: Fluted Glass Doors and Adjustable Shelves
The upper section of the cabinet features two fluted glass doors mounted on soft-close hinges, providing easy access to the contents while adding a touch of sophistication. Inside, two adjustable shelves and solid timber backing boards offer versatile storage options for linens, towels, and other essentials.
The Lower Cabinet: Graduated Drawers for Added Storage
Beneath the upper cabinet, the lower section houses three graduated drawers, all made of solid pine. This design not only provides additional storage but also adds visual interest to the overall appearance of the cabinet.
Modular Build: Easy Transportation and On-Site Assembly
Our modular approach to this custom build allows for seamless transportation and on-site assembly. Once in place, our team expertly fitted the doors and completed the final touches to ensure a perfect fit and finish.
Finishing Touches: Teak Brown Stain and Aged Brass Accents
To match the staircase balustrade in Amy and Jesse’s home, we stained the American Oak cabinet in Teak Brown and sealed it with a 10% gloss lacquer. This not only highlights the wood’s natural beauty but also provides a durable finish that will last for years. The cabinet is further adorned with Italian-made aged brass knobs and handles, adding a final touch of elegance to this functional masterpiece.
